More Autumn color tonight, this time from a neighborhood walk some days ago around the Mt. Tabor area. What is this amazing bush that has these wonderful purple berries!? I was so glad I had my camera at the ready (and it wasn't raining. this is Portland, after all).

I have been sketching, I promise... and here's a sketch to prove it. Things may be really up in the air for me right now but it feels very good to have a goal of increased creative output, the first most immediate goal being new designs for the Gocco. More sketches to come, both here and on my Flickr. Short post tonight... it's my Friday!

more sketches

Hello again from a Monday off from work. After a 6 day week, its very very welcome. So welcome, in fact, that at 11:38 am I'm snuggling with baby Shoghi on the couch and we are still sporting our pajamas without a spot of guilt. Go me!

Here are the other sketches I promised last night.

...and some with pen (and a little wrinkled corner)!

post

Having lived here for 5 months and not yet investigated the local art store scene (because I work in a supplier for paper and fancy crafting goods) it is high time I do some exploring. I wandered into Art Media on my way home from work last week. I ended up with a bag full of pencils, colored pencils, and pens. I also left with a new find~ Strathmore Layout Bond. I've never seen this paper before and like to try out a new weight every once in a while. It was really a dream. The next day I had the evening to myself and really soaked it up, wedging into a coffee shop corner for hours nursing chamomile tea and sketching. Oh, I'm going to have to find a way to do that more often. :)
